VARN Industries: Honey Badger Mating Sounds
"This is the third follow-up EP for Vol. X: Ten Years Later, recorded in early-2010. This EP picks right up where the second left off, following the same recording style and techniques, but even more experimental. For these tracks, I busted out my old Rollin' Piano, which I got as a gift from Bluesteeze. The first two tracks are the only two to actually have anything to do with honey badgers. "Doodoo Fisher" was inspired by a poster I saw walking down Queen Street one day. "Flowers Made Of Metal" was originally going to be instrumental, but after naming the song after three flower's Angela made out of metal wire, I envisioned taking razor sharp petals from metal flowers to cut up and snort cocaine, which would cut up your face and then wrote lyrics about it. I have no reasonable explanation for "Who Stole My Poo?" It just kind of happened."

VARN Industries: Sentimental Stickers
"This is the second follow-up EP for Vol. X: Ten Years Later, recorded in early-2010. As with the first EP, this is a continuation of the recording sessions for Vol. X, though I did want this one to be more experimental. In fact, "Titl Tilr" is a direct follow-up to the last track on Rape Puppetry. "Imitation Thunder Storm" was made using the floor, my voice and a microphone, nothing else. "The Lieft" is based on an old song my friends and I used to sing when we were in first grade. Aside from the drum programming (which is partially composed of kung-fu sounds), all of the sounds in "Fawed Infero" were sampled during a few minutes of Angela channel surfing. "The Fighting Model Dine N' Dashes" is based on actual events from Lisa's birthday party. Most of the sounds in that song were created either by tearing up a sheet of paper or scraping the hose on a hookah with my fingernails."

VARN Industries: Rape Puppetry
"This is the first follow-up EP for Vol X: Ten Years Later, recorded in early-2010. This is basically a continuation of the sessions for Vol. X. The first track is a quick remix I did the night after recording the original. "Issues (3a.m.)" is a cover of a Mindless Self Indulgence song. "Let Me Do This" is about almost every episode of Jersey Shore. The fourth track is a celebration of Beacon Meadows over the last ten years. "Save The Hospital" is dedicated to the memory of the W.T. Edwards Tuberculosis Hospital of Tampa. "Sounds Like Salvia Or Skunky, But Its Neither" was inspired by Skunky's strange and unusal recording sessions."

VARN Industries Volume X: Ten Years Later
"This album was recorded in early 2010. Once again, there's no overall concept or theme with this album. I decided to cut back as much as I felt possible on using any of my keyboards this time. So while the have fun, do what I want feel of the 0900 series is present, the production style is more in the vein of my Underground Pipe Labyrinth albums. In fact, I've many times thought of this as what Underground Pipe Labyrinth might sound like today as a solo project. Almost all of the drums and beats were constructed from sounds I recorded around my apartment, such as hitting or scraping different surfaces and objects, spinning coins, tapping ash out of pipes, popping my jaw and beatboxing. There are tons of weird vocal noises that have been sampled, chopped up, stretched out or backmasked throughout. There are also a lot more vocal tracks here than on many of my more recent albums, following the trend I began the previous year with Vol. IX. Most of the lyrics I've written are very personal and based on events in my life. "Evil Jesus" and "Raving For The Moon" deal with the many drug happenings I used to arrange a few years back, known as the Evil Jesus Parties. "Angela" is a cover of a Mötley Crüe song I've recorded for my wife. I sampled my friends Lisa and Asha via cellphone on "Vodka Douche" and "Give Me Your Tongue Girl" respectively. "The End Of The Beginning" is based on the events of the Inner Circle incident. "The Beginning Of The End," however, was recorded by hanging my microphone out the window while someone threw a bunch of scrap metal into their pickup truck in the back alley. The last track is composed almost entirely by noises I recorded of my good friend Konrad Epp made using metal, glass and water in unusual ways."
