"This album was recorded in the Summer of 2010. I had just done a complete overhaul of my studio and equipment and felt like learning how to use everything. These songs are the result of the first week's practice sessions. Vagabondage co-wrote "Cannibalistic Goons" and Konrad co-wrote "Frogs In A Lawnmower." The seventh and eight tracks are for my sister and youngest brother. None of my lyrics on this album were pre-written, as I instead came up with things on the spot."

"This is the third follow-up EP for Vol. X: Ten Years Later, recorded in early-2010. This EP picks right up where the second left off, following the same recording style and techniques, but even more experimental. For these tracks, I busted out my old Rollin' Piano, which I got as a gift from Bluesteeze. The first two tracks are the only two to actually have anything to do with honey badgers. "Doodoo Fisher" was inspired by a poster I saw walking down Queen Street one day. "Flowers Made Of Metal" was originally going to be instrumental, but after naming the song after three flower's Angela made out of metal wire, I envisioned taking razor sharp petals from metal flowers to cut up and snort cocaine, which would cut up your face and then wrote lyrics about it. I have no reasonable explanation for "Who Stole My Poo?" It just kind of happened."

"This is the second follow-up EP for Vol. X: Ten Years Later, recorded in early-2010. As with the first EP, this is a continuation of the recording sessions for Vol. X, though I did want this one to be more experimental. In fact, "Titl Tilr" is a direct follow-up to the last track on Rape Puppetry. "Imitation Thunder Storm" was made using the floor, my voice and a microphone, nothing else. "The Lieft" is based on an old song my friends and I used to sing when we were in first grade. Aside from the drum programming (which is partially composed of kung-fu sounds), all of the sounds in "Fawed Infero" were sampled during a few minutes of Angela channel surfing. "The Fighting Model Dine N' Dashes" is based on actual events from Lisa's birthday party. Most of the sounds in that song were created either by tearing up a sheet of paper or scraping the hose on a hookah with my fingernails."

VARN Industries Volume X: Ten Years Later
"This album was recorded in early 2010. Once again, there's no overall concept or theme with this album. I decided to cut back as much as I felt possible on using any of my keyboards this time. So while the have fun, do what I want feel of the 0900 series is present, the production style is more in the vein of my Underground Pipe Labyrinth albums. In fact, I've many times thought of this as what Underground Pipe Labyrinth might sound like today as a solo project. Almost all of the drums and beats were constructed from sounds I recorded around my apartment, such as hitting or scraping different surfaces and objects, spinning coins, tapping ash out of pipes, popping my jaw and beatboxing. There are tons of weird vocal noises that have been sampled, chopped up, stretched out or backmasked throughout. There are also a lot more vocal tracks here than on many of my more recent albums, following the trend I began the previous year with Vol. IX. Most of the lyrics I've written are very personal and based on events in my life. "Evil Jesus" and "Raving For The Moon" deal with the many drug happenings I used to arrange a few years back, known as the Evil Jesus Parties. "Angela" is a cover of a Mötley Crüe song I've recorded for my wife. I sampled my friends Lisa and Asha via cellphone on "Vodka Douche" and "Give Me Your Tongue Girl" respectively. "The End Of The Beginning" is based on the events of the Inner Circle incident. "The Beginning Of The End," however, was recorded by hanging my microphone out the window while someone threw a bunch of scrap metal into their pickup truck in the back alley. The last track is composed almost entirely by noises I recorded of my good friend Konrad Epp made using metal, glass and water in unusual ways."

"This is the third and final follow-up EP to Vol. IX: Life Begins When Winter Ends, recorded in late 2009, immediately after the Embryo Concepts album Arrive In K At Old Nav and immediately before the Ghost Town Breeding Ground album Third Contact. I was messing with my new keyboard one day and found something that made me think of all the dubstep tracks I like, and so, over the next six hours, I recorded this. "This is the first follow-up EP for Volume IX: Life Begins When Winter Ends, recorded in late 2009. This is truly an extension of the have fun, do what I want feel of the album it follows. There are quite a bit more vocal tracks here. Both "¿Opyn Pennis, Yes?" and "Responsibility Of F" were written in the middle of the night when I'd wake up momentarily with crazy images in my head. The lyrics for "Jinx, The Roadkill Kitty" are the oldest out of any VARN Industries song, dating back to 2000 and are based on actual events. I actually didn't write the lyrics for "Michael Jackson." I simply wrote them down as fast as I could one day at the library while some crackhead yelled them out sitting right next to me."

VARN Industries Volume IX: Life Begins When Winter Ends
"This album was recorded in mid-2009. I had just survived my first Canadian winter and really felt invigorated by the warmer weather. There's no overall theme or concept behind this one, aside from just having fun and making the music I want to listen to. About halfway through recording the album, I got a new keyboard, which features quite prominently in the second half of the songs. I once again plundered my vast library of Beacon Meadows videos for more samples, featuring Batrick, Magitek and Skunky. The second track is the first collaboration with my friend Vagabondage, who I coincidently met through the same message board as Tvitkh. This song inspired us to record an album together, which became the Embryo Concepts album Arrive In K At Old Nav. As their titles imply, "Beat For Chego" and "Beat For Blue" are indeed hiphop instrumentals intended for my friends Chego and Bluesteeze respectively, although their vocals never ended up being recorded. I also wrote and recorded lyrics/vocals for three of the songs on this album, which are all based on actual events."

"This is the sixth VARN Industries album, recorded in 2006 and comprised entirely of covers songs Of these, three are from Disney film soundtracks: Winnie The Pooh And The Blustery Day, Dumbo and The Little Mermaid. The rest were originally recorded by KMFDM, Slipknot, Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Nine Inch Nails or Garth Brooks and one is from the movie Jaws. Aside from being a covers collection, this is the first VARN Industries album not to have an overall concept to it. Along with the follow-up EP Supplemental Material, these songs served as a cleansing process for me creatively and emotionally. At the time, I was going through a lot of bullshit personally. The hospital got demolished, which seemed like a real-life methaphor for what was going on in my life at the time. Along with my fucked up personal life, my hallucinogen intake was at its highest and I was throwing huge drug parties almost every weekend, which probably helped my music more than my personal life. But, just as a chapter in my life was closing, so was a chapter in the life of VARN Industries. Nothing would be the same again after this."

"This is the third and final follow-up compilation to Appendix A: 1999-2006, collecting what's left of Volume II: Stoned Age, The THC Sessions (A follow-up EP to Volume II: Stoned Age) and Volume III: Angel, as well as VARN-related tracks from the aborted Batrick's Spy Kit EP Batrick vs. The World, Vol. I and the aborted Mark Nalley EP Forest Of Illusions, after a harddrive failure that occurred while setting up the Oak Manor Studio. Volume II: Stoned Age was recorded in 2002 with Hippie writing or co-writing most of the tracks and/or lyrics, though not all of the vocals ended up getting recorded. The concept was basically trying to make music that sounded like what smoking reefer felt like (I later adapted this theme to tripping balls on DXM at an abandoned hospital for Vol. V and tripping on an unspecified hallucinogen at a party for Vol. VIII). Three EPs were recorded to follow-up Vol. II, but only some of the tracks from the third EP survived the crash. The 0200 series (Volume II: Stoned Age, The Three Parables Of Hippie & MAN3, untitled: undated and The THC Sessions), along with their Batrick's Spy Kit counterparts (Knuckle and Fill Me Up Another Cup Of Booze) and Magitekno counterpart (Totally Baked Album), collectively represent a report on the Extended Marijuana Study held by MAN3, Magitek and Batrick with Hippie and MyKaos over the course of 2002. A seperate written report, entitled The Hippie Archives has also been compiled from this and several other marijuana studies held by Beacon Meadows between 2001 and 2006 and should one day see public release. Volume III: Angel was recorded in 2003, though the lyrics intended for it (which you can download here) were written in 2001. Its concept followed the journey of an angel sent down from Heaven to warn people of the coming apocalypse, only to fall in love with a mortal. The mortal is drafted into service because of war and is killed. The angel then becomes a deeply depressed atheist and ends up committing suicide. Cheerful stuff. Batrick vs. The World, Vol. I was an EP's worth of new remixes by Batrick of Batrick's Spy Kit, Magitekno and VARN Industries tracks recorded in 2004 that also suffered near-extinction from the hard-drive failure. At around the same time, I was also trying to get together an EP's worth of material by my dad, though only two tracks are left of that recording ("Chilling At The Lake" and a Batrick's Spy Kit track called "Forest Of Illusions (Yoshi's Egg)")."

"This is the follow-up EP to Volume IV: Mind Expansion Kit, recorded in 2004. This EP came from a collaboration between myself and my friend Big Daddy while we both lived in Suitcase City. Along with this EP, I produced a Big Daddy solo album entitled Troll-Hop Compilation and wrote a munchies cookbook, the Chef Boyareyoustoned's Cookbook (which you can download here). Unfortuately, Big Daddy and I went seperate ways creatively when he chose to stay in prison as often as possible, so his album will probably remain unreleased."

VARN Industries Volume I: 1984 Soundtrack
"This is the first VARN Industries album, recorded between 1999 and 2001, with vocals later finally recorded in 2004. The concept behind this album was that it was the soundtrack to the novel 1984, written by George Orwell, though it ended up drawing inspiration from much more than just that single book. The lyrics were' written in 1999 during a year-long binge on any anti-utopian literature (such as Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, A Clockwork Orange, etc...), as well as literature about the Vietnam War, the Soviet Union and the first Gulf War (the second one hadn't happened yet). The music was then recorded when I found a music-making program in my video productions class that I took home. Batrick' made his first recorded appearance on this album, helping me with the music on a couple tracks. My long-time friend Joseph Haun co-wrote the lyrics for "An Anthem By Citizen 303" (his locker was #606) while we were in history class, where we first learned about the Frank Loesser song "Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammuntion." I actually decided to cover the song based purely on its title, having never heard the song or read its lyrics. The backing track is a overhauled version of the theme song for a show I did in high school called "The Ron & Rob Show." Several other tracks also began as background music for high school video projects. An answering machine message from my mother is backmased into the second track. I had a very different idea of how VARN Industries would evolve from what it ended up becoming, thanks in no small part to my introduction to marijuana after most of this album was done. "

"This is the second follow-up EP for Volume VIII, recorded at Xaos Beast's home studio in a jam session prior to the "Duet" sessions. The tracks, three with beats programmed live by Xaos Beast, were then mixed using VARN Portable Studios and spliced with audio from videos of an LSD study held by Magitek and Batrick at the Toxic Jungle in 2007. The resulting audio is supposed to evoke the feeling of chilling out in those woods with the Super Nalley Bros. while tripping on acid."

"This is a collection of outtakes, leftovers and extra remixes from between 1999 and 2006. The first track is actually the first track ever recorded under the VARN Industries name. I had originally intended Volume VI to be compiled of several tracks under a minute each in length instead of a covers album and would have been called "Volume VI: Bit-Size Portions." Of these, only the cover of the main title from Jaws made it to the final "Original Material" version of Volume VI. The rest are compiled here, along with my contributions to a joke side-project my brothers and I were going to do called CBFA that never panned out. The last two tracks are the result of Beacon Meadows studies on Salvia and 2C-I, respectively. Track 18 is the first song my daughter Lilith ever recorded, when she was two. My good friend and one-time neighbor Deuce rapped on tracks 6, 12, 15, 16 and 17. My dad did vocals on track 25."

This is the first Batrick's Spy Kit album, recorded between 2002 and 2004, when he was only fifteen years old. The second track was actually recorded on his fifteenth birthday. Magitek co-wrote track 10 after he and Batrick smoked a Bible paper joint. MAN3 co-wrote tracks 16 and 22 and did some extra drum programming on track 20. Tracks 17 and 18 were recorded one day when the reefer temporarily ran out.

"Here is how it all started... It was the summer after 7th grade and I had been at the pool all day. My brother Magitek showed up and told me, "I just bought $15 worth of weed." Well, I had never smoked before and Magitek hadn't either, so we got a black from the lifeguard and tried to roll a blunt and it barely smoked. Now, remember Magitek had just bought Jamaican fire so we were feeling good. It started to rain so we chilled at the pool and smoked a black until it stopped. After that we headed up to Hippie's. We smoked 2 bowls out of the Spider Man. When we left we were so baked that we gave Hippie the rest of the Mary J Wana. Later on that day, my brother MAN3 went over to Hippie's and smoked the rest, and that Jamaican fire was some good shit mon."

"This is the first follow-up EP to Vol. VIII, recorded during the winter of 2008-2009 (with one exception). The first and third tracks are titled very appropriately, as they were recorded after I finished Vol. VIII, but would have fit perfectly on it. The second track is a remix I did with my Kaptain Kensington & The Fungus Forest project in mind, but was more than happy with it before Xaos Beast had a chance to work on it. The fourth, seventh and ninth tracks were also originally recorded for the Kaptain project, but I ended up liking them too much as is. The fifth track features the voice of a good friend of mine with one leg and plenty of things to say. The sixth track is the original demo version Crow and I made of "Tell Me What You Like," from Vol. VII: Something. And finally, track eight features my good friend Bluesteeze telling about going out to buy a car while giving me a ride home one night, long ago. "

"This is the eight VARN Industries album, recorded almost entirely on my new laptop portable recording studio while wondering around Tampa and then Toronto. One exception is track 3, a collaborative track with Wes and outtake from East Central Stairs, which was recorded on the old VARN Studios setup and then finished at Wes' place. The other exception is track 7, recorded using VARN Mobile Studios and then finished by Tvitkh in South Australia. I used my brother Batrick's keyboard on tracks 3 and 5. My daughter Lilith helps out with vocals and additional keyboard on track 5. The concept for this album is that you are at a party about to watch some horror movies when you decide to dose on some anonymous hallucinagen. The movies become to confusing, and after escaping a zombie invasion, you find yourself chilling outside with some friends smoking a blunt and the night finishes on a strongly positive vibe. "heavily synth concentrated experimental instrumental industrial/idm/ebm.

my biggest influences are the likes of skinny puppy, kmfdm, the knife, ohgr, skold, kmfdm, neon womb, stark, sonic mayhem, depeche mode, kraftwerk, aphex twin, pendulum, prodigy, hanzel und gretyl.

been listening to alot of daft punk of late, as well as kmfdms latest album & alot of the misfits, so some of that may shine through a little too in some way or another.

also been smoking alot of weed again lately for the first time in a few years which also may shine through :P
& drinking alot as usual.

also here is a bonus/secret track & a remix that origionally didnt end up making it onto the album package but ive decided to now add to it, plus it could be a tester track to download maybe anyhow to get a general gist: Thirteen & Thirteen Great Unknown Remix"
